Woodland Services Abergavenny as part of their manufacturing facility treat all their own timber using their state of the art computerised treatment plant. As a minimum all timber is treated to the 15 year desired service life specification using Koppers Celcure AC500. All treatment is monitored by Koppers to ensure that we maintain this high standard.
Woodland SA's Tracey O'Leary recently sat down with a reporter from the Abergavenny Chronicle to give an interesting in sight into how the company is run and the treatment processes behind the company. To discover more please use the following link
Pressure treatment is a process that forces chemical preservatives into the wood. Wood is placed inside a closed cylinder, then vacuum and pressure are applied to force the preservatives into the wood. The preservatives help protect the wood from decay.
All wood is dried to 28% or less moisture content prior to treatment and then a higher treatment solution is used to ensure that maximum treatment is achieved therefore prolonging the life of the wood.
At Woodland Services we treat all our wood to Class 4 Specification - Direct soil or fresh water contact.
